Carpet Snake in Fish Pond Footage

This carpet snake was lurking around the fish pond under the chicken wire mesh. The chicken wire mesh was used to protect the goldfish from the kookaburas that visit the backyard often for food.

The snake might have been hydrating due to the dry weather. It submerged itself under the bottom of the pond when I started to approach the fish pond. It seems to be quite shy and hid itself under the water.
